BLITAR – Traffic monitoring during peak hours program has been intensified in Srengat District, Blitar Regency, as police increase their presence at busy intersections, school zones, and major roads to improve safety and reduce the risk of accidents.
Police officers conducted traffic control operations on Wednesday morning at several locations known for heavy congestion. The initiative targeted areas that experience high vehicle volumes during the morning rush when students, workers, and residents begin their daily activities.
Since early morning, officers have stationed themselves at key intersections and road segments. Their presence aims to maintain smooth traffic flow while providing a safer environment for road users.
Srengat Police Chief Commissioner Randhy Irawan said traffic management remains an important part of the police force’s public service responsibilities.
“This traffic control operation helps people who are traveling to work, offices, and schools. We want to ensure that their journeys remain safe and smooth,” Randhy said.
According to him, the morning period often records the highest level of traffic activity. As vehicle numbers increase, the risk of congestion and road accidents also rises.
Police therefore focus on strategic locations where traffic density regularly increases. These include road intersections, school entrances, and routes that connect residential areas with business and educational centers.
Randhy explained that officers do more than direct traffic. Their visible presence also encourages motorists to follow traffic regulations and maintain discipline while driving.
He noted that direct supervision can help reduce violations that often contribute to accidents. Drivers tend to obey road rules more consistently when officers are present on the streets.
“Traffic control helps improve vehicle movement, especially near schools and public activity centers,” he added.
Authorities consider preventive measures an essential part of road safety efforts. By managing traffic before problems occur, police hope to lower the chances of collisions and severe congestion.
The police department plans to continue the operation on a routine basis. Officers will remain deployed during busy hours to support mobility and improve public safety.
Randhy said the program also seeks to strengthen community confidence in public services. Residents often rely on police assistance when navigating crowded roads during peak travel periods.
Through regular traffic management activities, Srengat Police aim to maintain orderly and safe road conditions across the district. Officials expect the strategy to reduce accident risks and create a more comfortable travel experience for motorists, students, and commuters.
The operation forms part of broader efforts to keep traffic conditions stable in areas that face higher accident risks during morning and afternoon rush hours.
