RADAR BLITAR – Blitar Traffic CCTV expansion will not move forward in 2026 after the Blitar Regency Transportation Agency (Dishub) decided to suspend new camera procurement due to budget limitations.

Instead, officials will relocate and optimize existing CCTV units that remain fully operational. The agency says this strategy allows it to maintain traffic monitoring without increasing spending.

Currently, Dishub operates CCTV systems at 24 strategic intersections across the regency. These include both major four-way junctions and high-traffic three-way intersections that authorities classify as congestion-prone areas.

Among the monitored locations are Kesamben, Talun, Kanigoro, Sambong, Lodoyo, Kademangan, Sanankulon, Srengat, Garum, and Kawedusan. Meanwhile, teams are finalizing installations at Jatitengah, Kendalrejo Talun, and Duren Talun.

In total, the agency manages 48 active CCTV camera points across those intersections.

Farid Pandu Pradana, Head of Traffic Engineering Management at Dishub Blitar, stressed that the ongoing installations do not involve newly purchased devices. “We are relocating older CCTV units that are still in good condition,” he said.

At the same time, the Blitar Regency Communication, Information, Statistics, and Encryption Agency has begun deploying a new network system since January. As a result, technicians can now reinstall and reconnect the relocated cameras more efficiently.

Through this approach, Dishub aims to strengthen traffic engineering and real-time road monitoring via the Area Traffic Control System (ATCS). While the agency has paused expansion plans, officials insist that the current Blitar Traffic CCTV network remains sufficient to support traffic supervision across the region.

Ultimately, authorities say the decision reflects fiscal discipline while ensuring that traffic management services continue without disruption.
