BLITAR – Blitar Eid holiday tourism is entering a peak period as the local government strengthens preparations across major destinations during the extended Eid al-Fitr holiday. Officials are focusing on safety, cleanliness, traffic control, and visitor services as tourist arrivals continue to rise.

The Blitar Regency Government has issued guidance to tourism operators ahead of the long holiday period. Authorities expect popular attractions to receive large numbers of domestic visitors in the coming days.

Eko Susanto, head of the Blitar Culture and Tourism Office, said local officials had instructed tourism managers to improve site readiness and hospitality standards.

“We have prepared recommendations for the Eid holiday, covering security, cleanliness, hospitality, and visitor services. We want tourists to enjoy their time in Blitar comfortably,” Eko said.

He added that the government stands ready to intervene if site managers face operational problems during the holiday rush.

The administration also aims to increase total visitor numbers this season after strong tourism performance in previous years.

Artificial tourist attractions continue to dominate visitor interest in Blitar. Kampung Coklat Kampung Coklat and Blitar Park Blitar Park remain the strongest draws, according to local tourism data.

Eko said these destinations have consistently attracted large family crowds during major holidays.

Several natural destinations are also expected to see heavy traffic. The Southern Cross Route (JLS) leading to coastal areas often becomes congested during holiday periods.

Natural tourism sites remain important to Blitar’s holiday economy. Serang Beach Pantai Serang, Tambakrejo Beach Pantai Tambakrejo, and Loji Pine Forest Hutan Pinus Loji continue to attract visitors seeking outdoor destinations.

To manage expected crowds, the tourism office has increased coordination with security personnel and strengthened parking arrangements near major sites.

“Traffic congestion like what happened on the southern route remains our main concern. We are improving parking management and security coordination,” Eko said.

Weather conditions are also under close watch because tourist destinations in Blitar stretch across beaches, rivers, and mountain areas.

The government has prepared an early warning system at several tourism locations to improve safety.

Last year’s Eid holiday recorded 142,519 visitors across Blitar Regency, with Kampung Coklat and Tambakrejo Beach leading total arrivals.
