TULUNGAGUNG – Rice stock for Eid remains secure in Tulungagung Regency after Perum Bulog confirmed that warehouse reserves still stand at around 35,000 tons.

The volume, recorded in mid-March, is expected to cover public demand for several months, easing concerns over rice availability ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Yonas Haryadi Kurniawan said current supplies remain stable and may increase further as harvest season begins in several farming areas across Tulungagung.

“Current stock stands at around 35,000 tons. If monthly distribution stays at around 3,500 tons, this reserve can last for about 10 months,” he said.

He explained that most monthly distribution supports government food assistance programs.

Around 2,500 tons of rice go to households each month through public food aid channels, while another 1,000 tons support price control under the food supply and price stabilization program.

Bulog distributes that rice through traditional markets, low-cost food campaigns, and modern retail outlets.

Officials say the mix of channels helps maintain public access while preventing sudden price pressure before the holiday season.

Bulog also continues monitoring rice quality inside storage facilities.

The agency sources rice through partner rice mills linked to local milling associations and applies government reserve standards before accepting supply.

That process allows the agency to maintain both quantity and quality during long storage periods.

At the same time, Bulog coordinates with the local government and food task force to monitor market conditions.

Officials want supply to remain steady while limiting the risk of price increases during Ramadan and the Eid holiday period.

Yonas said this coordination becomes more important when consumer demand rises close to Lebaran.

With current reserves still high and harvest deliveries expected to continue, Bulog says Tulungagung should face no rice shortage through Ramadan and Eid.
