TULUNGAGUNG – Tulungagung Education SPM 2025 reached 98.77 percent, placing the East Java regency close to full compliance with Indonesia’s minimum education service standards across all school levels.

Tulungagung Acting Education Agency (Disdik) head Sukowinarno said the near-perfect score reflected coordinated efforts from early childhood to junior secondary schools. Most indicators on service access and quality now approach 100 percent, he said.

In early childhood education (PAUD), school participation among children aged 5–6 rose to 93.31 percent in 2025 from 92.31 percent a year earlier. Overall indicator achievement reached 98.93 percent.

All 29,915 targeted children received basic education services, achieving full coverage. This component carries an 80 percent weight in SPM calculations.

Quality indicators, which account for the remaining 20 percent, also remained high. The share of PAUD institutions with at least B accreditation reached 87.51 percent, equal to 99.52 percent of the target. Meanwhile, 89.62 percent of PAUD teachers held bachelor’s or equivalent degrees, achieving 98.51 percent of the target.

“Quality remains our priority. We ensure not only access but also continuous improvement in service and educator standards,” Sukowinarno said.

At the primary level, school participation among children aged 7-12 reached 99.82 percent, with realization at 99.53 percent. Junior secondary participation for ages 13-15 showed the same level of achievement, leaving only a 0.47 percent service gap in each level.

Service coverage also reached 100 percent for 100,333 targeted students across basic education.

Quality metrics at both levels showed positive trends. In primary schools, literacy and numeracy targets were fully achieved. The school safety climate index reached 98.84 percent, diversity index 98.64 percent, and inclusivity index 95.99 percent.

Junior secondary schools also achieved full literacy and numeracy targets. The safety climate index stood at 97.94 percent, diversity 98.58 percent, and inclusivity 96.07 percent. Sukowinarno said further improvement remains necessary despite already high scores.

In equivalency education programs, participation among ages 7-18 rose to 16.67 percent in 2025 from 14.67 percent in 2024. Indicator achievement reached 83.98 percent.
