TULUNGAGUNG – Tri Hariadi has returned as Acting Regional Secretary of Tulungagung, as Acting Regent Ahmad Baharudin moves quickly to reorganize the local bureaucracy. The decision aims to stabilize governance and keep development on track during the leadership transition.

Ahmad Baharudin said his administration followed all required procedures before making the appointment. His team submitted the proposal to the East Java governor on April 30, 2026. The governor approved it on May 3, and Baharudin finalized the appointment a day later.

“We followed every step under the regulations. We secured approval from the governor before moving forward,” Baharudin said.

Baharudin chose Tri Hariadi for his long experience in the civil service. He believes strong leadership will help maintain coordination across government institutions during this transition period.

“His experience will help us keep the administration effective and well-coordinated,” he added.

However, Baharudin stressed that the role remains temporary. Tri Hariadi will serve for three months, and the administration will review his performance before making any long-term decision.

“We will evaluate his performance first. The situation remains dynamic,” he said.

Tri Hariadi said he is ready to take on the responsibility. He pledged to follow leadership directives and ensure public services continue without disruption.

“We will focus on keeping development running and maintaining public services,” he said.

He also plans to strengthen coordination with all regional agencies (OPD). He wants every development program to stay aligned with regulations and existing plans.

“We will work closely with all departments to maintain progress,” he added.

Tri Hariadi’s return marks a new chapter in Tulungagung’s bureaucracy. Earlier, officials reassigned him from the regional secretary post to lead the manpower and transmigration office under former regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo.

Recent legal issues involving Gatut Sunu Wibowo in April 2026 triggered broader changes in the local government structure. In response, Baharudin has pushed for consolidation to ensure stable, professional governance and consistent public service delivery.
