RADAR TRENGGALEK – The RSUD dr Soedomo ER upgrade aims to improve comfort and efficiency in emergency care. Local authorities and corporate partners inaugurated a new waiting area and expanded canopy on February 12.

The Trenggalek Regency Government partnered with PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (PT SMI) and Baitulmaal Muamalat (BMM). They delivered the project through a Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. The ceremony took place at the hospital’s Emergency Room (IGD).

Trenggalek Regent Mochammad Nur Arifin attended the event. Acting Hospital Director Dr. Saeroni and Regional Secretary Edy Soepriyanto were also present. Representatives from PT SMI and BMM joined the inauguration.

Regent Arifin said healthcare improvement requires strong collaboration. He emphasized that local governments cannot work alone.

“We appreciate the support from PT SMI and BMM. This synergy strengthens public services, especially healthcare,” he said.

He noted that the new facilities will support faster emergency handling. In addition, they will provide better comfort for patients’ families. Previously, the ER did not have a proper waiting room.

The upgraded drop-off zone now offers stronger protection from rain and extreme weather. At the same time, the new layout separates medical treatment areas from family waiting spaces.

This separation allows medical staff to work more efficiently. It also reduces crowding in critical areas.

Dr. Saeroni said the CSR assistance reached approximately IDR 499 million. The funding focused on expanding the canopy and building the waiting room.

“The canopy helps families and staff stay protected when transferring patients, especially during rain. The waiting room provides a more comfortable space for relatives,” he explained.

Dr. Saeroni added that the hospital previously used the ER as a COVID-19 treatment area. Therefore, it lacked adequate space for families.

“Most emergency patients come with relatives. We hope this upgrade makes services more organized,” he said.

Nanang Arifin, Team Leader of Financing 1 at PT SMI, said the program reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable development.

“The healthcare sector directly affects quality of life. That is why we support improving ER facilities,” he stated.

Meanwhile, BMM CSR Division Head Rina Ekawati said the project followed strict procedures. The team conducted a needs assessment and technical planning. They also supervised construction until completion.

Construction began in September and finished at the end of 2025. The project reached full completion under agreed technical standards.

Through the RSUD dr Soedomo ER upgrade, officials hope to improve emergency services. They also aim to demonstrate effective collaboration between government, private companies, and social institutions.
