JAKARTA – East Lombok’s stunning coastline is quickly becoming one of Indonesia’s hottest travel trends as hidden beaches, remote islands, and dramatic cliff landscapes attract visitors searching for untouched tropical destinations in 2026.

Tourism activity in Lombok has increased significantly as travelers shift away from overcrowded destinations and look for quieter natural escapes. Social media exposure has played a major role in introducing East Lombok’s hidden beaches to wider audiences.

From pink-colored coastlines to towering cliffs and crystal-clear waters, the region now offers some of Indonesia’s most visually striking tourism experiences.

Pink Beach Continues to Attract Global Attention

Pantai Tangsi, famously known as Pink Beach Lombok, remains one of the region’s biggest attractions. The beach’s naturally pink sand creates a rare coastal landscape that continues to fascinate travelers from around the world.

The pink coloration comes from microscopic fragments of red coral mixing with white sand. Combined with calm blue-green water, the beach has become a favorite location for photography and travel videos.

Despite increasing popularity, the destination still maintains a relatively untouched atmosphere because of its remote location.

Nearby hills allow tourists to enjoy panoramic ocean views while exploring the surrounding coastline.

Gili Kondo has also become one of East Lombok’s most recommended marine tourism destinations. The small island offers white sand beaches and rich underwater ecosystems suitable for snorkeling and diving.

Visitors often rent boats to explore surrounding islands and coral reefs across the Alas Strait.

Tanjung Ringgit presents a completely different side of Lombok tourism through its towering cliffs and rugged coastline.

The destination remains largely undeveloped, giving visitors access to raw natural scenery rarely found in more commercial tourism regions. Travelers frequently visit the cliffs to photograph panoramic ocean views or explore nearby cave formations.

Meanwhile, Pantai Kaliantan provides a quieter coastal experience with its long stretch of white sand and surrounding green vegetation.

The beach has become increasingly known for kite surfing activities thanks to its strong coastal winds and open sea conditions.

Tourism observers say East Lombok’s diversity of landscapes is helping the region appeal to a broader range of travelers, from photographers and adventure seekers to families and relaxation tourists.

Tanjung Beloam Strengthens Lombok’s Tourism Appeal

One destination experiencing especially rapid growth in popularity is Tanjung Beloam.

The area is famous for massive rock cliffs that extend into the ocean, creating dramatic scenery often featured in viral travel videos. A cone-shaped hill covered in greenery stands prominently near the coastline, adding to the destination’s visual appeal.

Although access roads remain challenging, many travelers describe the journey as worthwhile once they reach the beach.

Local tourism communities are now encouraging sustainable development strategies to balance growing visitor numbers with environmental conservation.

As tourism trends increasingly favor nature-based experiences, East Lombok’s hidden beaches appear set to become one of Indonesia’s most important emerging tourism destinations in the years ahead.
