TRENGGALEK – Trenggalek police patrols have intensified during the Eid al-Fitr holiday as large crowds gather in shopping areas, traditional markets, and retail centers across the town.
Police said public activity has risen sharply in recent days, especially in places selling holiday essentials such as clothing, food, and jewelry.
Officers from Polres Trenggalek increased patrol frequency to prevent crime and maintain order in busy public spaces.
The force has deployed additional personnel to strengthen security and improve public comfort during the holiday period.
Ridwan Maliki, through police public relations officer Katik, said crowd density has become especially visible around shopping centers.
“Crowds are heaviest in the morning and late afternoon. Parking areas are full and often extend onto the road, while traffic volume also increases,” Katik said.
He explained that officers do more than routine patrols in crowded areas.
Police also help manage traffic flow, supervise parking, and remain on standby near key commercial locations.
Officers also deliver public safety advice and encourage residents to help protect their surroundings.
Alongside routine patrols, police continue KRYD operations, a form of intensified regular security activity designed to reduce criminal risks.
At least three patrol units operate at the same time during each security round.
Each patrol team includes five to seven officers with separate target areas.
Police use an intersecting patrol method, where units follow different routes but meet at one point to strengthen monitoring coverage.
Authorities expect the strategy to keep security conditions stable across Trenggalek during the Eid celebration.
Police also reminded residents that emergency support remains available through the toll-free 110 police hotline.
Anyone who witnesses an incident or needs immediate police assistance can contact the service at any time.
