TRENGGALEK – Trenggalek 13th Salary Payment will absorb around Rp31 billion ($1.9 million) from the regional budget as the Trenggalek Regency Government prepares to distribute the annual benefit to thousands of civil servants and public officials in June 2026.

The allocation covers all eligible recipients within the local government administration. Beneficiaries include civil servants, government employees under work agreements (PPPK), members of the regional legislative council (DPRD), and the Trenggalek regent and deputy regent.

The Trenggalek Financial and Regional Revenue Management Agency (BPKPD) has started the final administrative preparations to ensure the payment process runs smoothly. Officials say the government has secured sufficient funding and completed the required regulations to support the disbursement.

“We have prepared all regulations and allocated adequate funds for the 2026 13th salary payment in Trenggalek Regency,” BPKPD Head Edi Santoso said.

According to Edi, authorities now only need to complete the final stage of the regional payroll application system before transferring funds to recipients. After that process finishes, the regional treasury will send payments through the standard mechanism.

“Each regional work unit still needs to submit the required documents. Afterward, the regional treasury administration division will immediately process the disbursement,” he explained.

Data from the Regional Civil Service and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) shows that Trenggalek employs 10,350 state personnel. The workforce includes 5,240 civil servants, among them 89 probationary civil servants. Another 5,110 employees work under PPPK contracts.

The large number of recipients makes the program one of the biggest spending items in this year’s budget. Officials estimate total spending will reach about Rp31 billion.

“We have allocated around Rp31 billion for all recipients,” Edi said.

The government bases the policy on Regent Regulation No. 3 of 2026. The same regulation also served as the legal basis for the previous holiday allowance payment.

Despite the large budget allocation, local officials consider the payment important. They believe it will help maintain household purchasing power. The additional income may also support local businesses and economic activity.

The payment comes ahead of the new academic year. Many families usually face higher education expenses during this period. Officials expect the funds to help cover those costs and support household spending.

“We aim to complete all payments this June so recipients can immediately benefit from the program and help stimulate economic activity,” Edi added.

The Trenggalek administration expects the June disbursement to provide direct financial support for public employees. Officials also hope the spending will contribute to stronger economic activity across the region.
