TRENGGALEK – Authorities have intensified preparations for the Gibran vice presidential visit to Trenggalek, deploying 250 personnel to secure key areas ahead of Thursday’s arrival. Police and local officials aim to maintain strong security while keeping public activity running normally.

Trenggalek Police Chief Ridwan Maliki said his team surveyed all routes that Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka will pass. Officers mapped congestion points and identified landslide-prone areas to reduce potential risks. The data now guides how teams position security personnel.

“We mapped traffic hotspots and landslide risks, then used the data to determine deployment points,” Ridwan said on Wednesday. He added that officers will remain alert without drawing too much attention in public spaces.

Security teams will focus on vulnerable نقاط while maintaining a low-profile presence. Officers will stand slightly away from main roads but stay ready to respond quickly if needed.

East Java Police have reinforced the operation with Brimob and bomb disposal units. These teams strengthen security coverage and improve response readiness during the visit.

Trenggalek Regional Secretary Edy Soepriyanto said the government started coordination as soon as it received confirmation on Monday. Officials held meetings with all relevant agencies to align preparations and follow presidential security protocols.

“We moved quickly and coordinated all departments to ensure everything runs according to plan,” Edy said. He stressed that cooperation remains key to a smooth visit.

Officials have also prepared Menak Sopal Stadium as one of the main venues. Teams improved facilities and ensured readiness for all scheduled activities.

Authorities are also anticipating rain, as the region remains in a wet season. They have prepared contingency plans so events can continue without disruption.

To support operations, the government has increased internet capacity at key locations. This step ensures smooth communication among officials and security teams during the visit.

With these measures in place, authorities expect the Gibran vice presidential visit to Trenggalek to proceed safely without disrupting daily life.
