BLITAR – The Blitar Porprov athlete bonus for medalists at the 2025 East Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov Jatim) will be disbursed in mid-March, with officials guaranteeing that no deductions will be made.
The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Blitar City confirmed it has scheduled the bonus payment for March 11. The organization stressed that athletes will receive the full amount promised, despite a slight delay in distribution.
“By mid-March, the funds will be transferred and can be used by our medal-winning athletes,” said Sukarji, Chair of KONI Blitar City.
He emphasized that KONI remains fully committed to honoring performance incentives without cuts. The assurance comes amid reports of bonus disputes and reductions in several other regions.
“In the coming days, we will distribute the bonuses. We guarantee there will be no reductions. We do not want what happened in other regions, where athlete bonuses were cut for various reasons,” Sukarji said.
Earlier in the budgeting phase, KONI proposed increasing the gold medal bonus from Rp 30 million to Rp 35 million. However, the city’s budget efficiency policy prevented the increase, forcing officials to maintain last year’s figures.
Under the finalized scheme, gold medalists will receive Rp 30 million (around USD 1,900), silver medalists Rp 20 million, and bronze medalists Rp 10 million.
Sukarji said KONI prioritized financial stability while ensuring athletes still receive proper recognition for their achievements at Porprov Jatim 2025.
“We initially proposed an increase, but budget efficiency measures required us to keep it at Rp 30 million. The key point is that the athlete bonus remains unchanged,” he said.
KONI Blitar City hopes the timely and full payment of the Blitar Porprov athlete bonus will strengthen athletes’ trust and motivate continued excellence in regional and national competitions.
