TRENGGALEK – PKS PAW process in Trenggalek has stalled after the party failed to complete 11 required administrative documents for submission to the East Java governor.
The Trenggalek DPRD Secretariat said it cannot move forward with the replacement process. Secretary Muhtarom confirmed that the documents submitted so far remain incomplete. “We cannot send the files to the governor because the party has not fulfilled the requirements,” he said.
He noted that the main issue lies in the Model BB documents. PKS has only submitted the primary Model BB file, while supporting documents from BB1 to BB11 are still missing. Without these, the application does not meet the formal criteria.
Earlier, officials had completed the dismissal process of the late council member and forwarded it to the provincial level. The file now sits with the East Java governor. However, the replacement cannot proceed without the full administrative set.
The DPRD seat became vacant after Nur Efendi passed away. PKS then nominated Komarudin, who secured the third-highest votes in the 2024 legislative election. In that race, PKS won two seats in Electoral District I, covering Trenggalek, Bendungan, and Tugu.
The Trenggalek General Elections Commission (KPU) has verified the nomination and confirmed it complies with regulations. Despite that, the DPRD Secretariat still cannot forward the proposal through the regent due to missing documents.
Muhtarom urged PKS to complete the paperwork without delay. He warned that the process will remain on hold until all requirements are met. “The faster the documents are completed, the sooner we can proceed with the appointment,” he said.
The DPRD views the vacant seat as a concern for legislative performance and public representation. Filling the position is important to ensure governance continues effectively.
For now, the timeline depends entirely on the party’s readiness to complete the documents. Until then, the PAW process cannot move to the next stage.
