TULUNGAGUNG – A total of 124 Tulungagung Umrah pilgrims remain in Saudi Arabia as of Tuesday (March 3), despite rising geopolitical tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
Local authorities confirmed that all pilgrims remain safe. They continue performing their Umrah rituals in Makkah and Madinah as scheduled.
Suryani, head of the Tulungagung Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, said his office immediately intensified coordination after news of renewed regional tensions spread.
He directly contacted group leaders and travel organizers in the Holy Land. According to their reports, the situation on the ground remains calm and under control.
Saudi authorities have not issued any instruction to delay return flights. As a result, pilgrims continue their activities without interruption.
The pilgrims departed through several licensed Umrah travel operators, including Menara Kamila, Sabilun Najah, and Hakim.
In particular, around 40 pilgrims traveled with Menara Kamila. Officials verified their condition through direct phone communication and confirmed that both accommodation and worship schedules remain normal.
Meanwhile, Menara Kamilah Tours and Travel stated that 47 of its pilgrims are currently in Saudi Arabia. The company reported no operational disruptions.
Authorities urged caution for those planning to depart in the coming days. Given the fluid global situation, officials now focus on flight safety and international air routes.
Suryani advised prospective pilgrims to consider postponing their trips temporarily. Alternatively, if they decide to proceed, they should first coordinate with their respective airlines to confirm flight availability and potential changes.
So far, airlines have not announced significant disruptions. However, officials continue to monitor developments closely.
Suryani emphasized that Indonesia’s central government holds full authority over any regulatory adjustments linked to global conflict.
Therefore, regional offices will implement policies issued from Jakarta. They will not introduce separate rules at the local level.
He also reassured the public that the government manages all strategic decisions through a single command structure. As a result, citizens can rely on official announcements for accurate information.
Tulungagung authorities maintain active communication with travel organizers. At the same time, they continue monitoring Middle East developments to ensure the safety of Tulungagung Umrah pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
