BLITAR – Police officers in Blitar tightened security during a joint training event involving members of the PSHT martial arts group. Authorities also banned participants from displaying school flags and attributes during the convoy to prevent potential clashes on the road.

Officers from the Wonodadi Police Sector escorted participants from PSHT 17 Wonodadi Branch during the joint training session on Sunday. Police organized the security measures as part of efforts to maintain public order and avoid disturbances during the group’s movement across districts.

The activity started around 7 a.m. local time from SDN 3 Kolomayan in Wonodadi District. Around 15 participants joined the convoy using approximately 10 motorcycles.

The group traveled to MTs Langkapan Maron in Srengat District, where the joint martial arts training session took place.

Wonodadi Police Chief Murdianto said officers carried out the escort as a public security measure. According to him, activities involving group mobility require close attention because they can trigger tension if authorities fail to manage them properly.

Police officers not only escorted the convoy but also gave direct instructions to participants before the trip began.

One of the main rules prohibited participants from carrying or displaying martial arts school flags and attributes during the journey. Officers introduced the restriction to reduce the risk of friction with other groups along the route.

“Participants also had to follow traffic regulations both during departure and after returning from the event,” Murdianto said.

He stressed that preventive measures remain essential for maintaining security and public order in the region. Police believe early supervision and direct education can reduce the risk of conflict before problems emerge.

“With security escorts and direct education for participants, we hope potential disturbances can be minimized from the beginning,” he added.

Authorities monitored the event until the convoy reached its destination. Police reported that the entire activity proceeded safely and without major incidents.

Officials also confirmed that no significant disturbances occurred either along the convoy route or at the training location.

The police escort reflects increasing efforts by local authorities in East Java to prevent tensions linked to large martial arts gatherings. Security personnel often supervise convoy movements closely, especially when events involve travel across multiple districts.

Police in Blitar continue urging martial arts groups and community organizations to prioritize public safety, follow traffic rules, and avoid provocative displays during public activities.
