TRENGGALEK – The East Java SPMB 2026 admission process has officially entered its initial phase, with public high schools across the province beginning Personal Identification Number (PIN) registration for prospective students ahead of the new academic year.

At SMAN 2 Trenggalek, admission officers started serving students on the first day of the process. However, only a limited number of applicants visited the school. Many junior high school graduates were still collecting the documents needed for registration.

According to admission committee member Ardhanu Jaya Purnama, several junior high schools had only recently announced graduation results. Many students received their graduation certificates on the same day the PIN registration period opened.

“Not many students have come to the school yet because graduation announcements were only released recently. Today, many of them also received their graduation certificates,” he said.

Students must prepare several documents before obtaining a PIN. The requirements include a graduation certificate, a National Student Identification Number (NISN), and a family card. These documents help schools verify applicant information before registration continues.

In addition, students can complete the PIN process online. They do not need to visit the school in person. Instead, they can access the system through their mobile phones. This option allows students to complete the early admission stage more easily and efficiently.

“They can come directly to the school. However, they can also use their smartphones because the process is available online,” Ardhanu explained.

For the upcoming academic year, SMAN 2 Trenggalek will open nine study groups. The school expects to accommodate around 300 students. Therefore, administrators have prepared several support services to help applicants throughout the admission process.

The academic achievement pathway remains an important route in East Java SPMB 2026. Students who choose this pathway must meet specific academic requirements.

The assessment system combines report card scores and Academic Ability Test (TKA) results. Report card grades contribute 60 percent of the final score. Meanwhile, TKA results account for the remaining 40 percent.

School officials hope the entire admission process will run smoothly. They also believe the technical guidelines issued by the East Java Education Office will help students understand every stage of registration.

Furthermore, the guidelines provide clear instructions from PIN registration to final enrollment. Students can follow the process more easily. Officials expect the East Java SPMB 2026 program to create a more organized, transparent, and accessible admission system for public high schools across the province.
