TULUNGAGUNG – Bukit Tunggul Manik has become one of the most popular roadside stops for travelers and motorcyclists seeking a peaceful escape along the western route of Tulungagung, East Java. Surrounded by green hills and cool mountain air, the scenic area in Kradinan Village, Pagerwojo District, offers a refreshing break from the busy atmosphere of urban roads.

“Pagerwojo has always been my favorite route whenever I want a peaceful atmosphere with friends. The view at Bukit Tunggul Manik is beautiful, especially in the late afternoon when the air feels very cool,” said Fahmi, a motorcyclist who frequently travels through the area.

According to him, the natural surroundings provide a completely different experience compared with crowded city streets filled with traffic and pollution. The quiet atmosphere and fresh air make the location ideal for short breaks during long rides.

Other road users also share similar experiences. Some travelers often gather at the roadside area to rest, chat, and enjoy the scenery together during their journeys.

“It’s not only the fresh air that makes this place special. The hills here are very aesthetic,” Fahmi added. “I almost always stop here on my way home with friends. It’s perfect for a simple healing moment while enjoying time together.”

Bukit Tunggul Manik is not only popular among young travelers. Workers and mobile vendors who pass through the Pagerwojo route every day also consider the area an important resting point.

Sugeng, a traveling vendor, said the scenery often helps reduce exhaustion during work trips. “I frequently pass this road while carrying merchandise. Seeing views like this makes me feel less tired. Sometimes I meet other travelers, and we share stories or snacks together at the roadside huts,” he explained.
