The general emphasized that the development forms part of a broader effort to strengthen the Indonesian Army’s presence in East Java. He underlined the importance of aligning the project with strategic defense needs while maintaining safety and sustainability. He also stressed that the project must deliver benefits beyond the military sector.

“This new unit must work in synergy with local governments and the community,” he said, highlighting the importance of collaboration.

Mayor Syauqul Muhibbin welcomed the visit and described it as a key step forward for regional development. He noted that the agenda extended beyond the military base, covering infrastructure and ongoing government programs.

“We discussed several priorities, including the proposed army headquarters, bridge conditions across the city and regency, and the progress of KDMP,” he said.

Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Virlany Arudyawan reaffirmed his full support for the construction plan in Kesamben. He explained that the presence of a new unit would strengthen territorial development and improve response speed in emergency situations.

Beyond defense, officials expect the Brigif/Yonif TP project to bring wider benefits. The development could stimulate local economic activity, create new opportunities, and improve infrastructure in surrounding areas.

Residents in Jugo Village may also experience indirect gains from increased mobility and supporting facilities. However, authorities stress that they will carefully manage the project to minimize disruption and maintain community stability.

Overall, the visit marks a significant milestone in the planning phase. With strong coordination between military and local government leaders, the project now moves closer to realization.
