BLITAR – UNU Blitar ethics violation case has reached its final stage after the university completed an internal investigation into allegations involving a lecturer. Following the review, the university imposed an administrative sanction and officially dismissed the lecturer to uphold institutional standards and campus integrity.
Muhammad Arifin, head of the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (PPKPT) at UNU Blitar, said the university completed every stage of the process in accordance with established procedures.
“The examination process has been completed according to procedure. This is the final decision,” Arifin said.
According to Arifin, the task force handled the case from start to finish. It received reports, conducted examinations, carried out investigations, and submitted recommendations to the governing board.
“The case was handled through the applicable mechanism. The task force conducted the examination and investigation before submitting recommendations to the governing board,” he said.
Based on the findings, the Governing Board of UNU Blitar (BPP) decided to impose an administrative sanction in the form of dismissal. The university has formalized the decision through an official letter.
“UNU Blitar has officially relieved the lecturer of his duties for violating ethical standards,” Arifin explained.
He added that the university reviewed the investigation findings before making its decision. Officials also considered the institution’s ethical standards. The review concluded that the lecturer committed a serious violation of the university’s code of ethics and campus regulations.
Furthermore, the decision reflects the university’s effort to enforce professional conduct among academic staff. University officials believe clear disciplinary measures are necessary to maintain trust within the academic community.
With the issuance of the dismissal letter, both the PPKPT Task Force and the governing board consider the case closed. They say the university completed the process through its internal procedures.
Meanwhile, university leaders stressed that the action demonstrates their commitment to campus safety and institutional integrity.
“This step reflects the institution’s commitment to safeguarding campus integrity and ensuring a sense of security for the entire academic community,” Arifin said.
The case has attracted attention within the local higher education sector. However, UNU Blitar said accountability and ethical compliance remain central to university governance.
The university hopes the decision will strengthen confidence in its oversight system, it also aims to reinforce ethical standards across campus.
