Residents Demand Action on Damaged Roads Tulungagung With One Year Deadline for Repairs

RADAR TULUNGAGUNG – Hundreds of residents in East Java gathered to demand faster repairs to damaged roads Tulungagung. They also set a one year deadline for authorities to show progress.

On Monday afternoon, people from villages across Rejotangan subdistrict came to the district office to voice concern over worsening road conditions. Participants represented Sumberagung, Tanen, Sukorejo Wetan, Tenggong, Panjerejo, Tenggur, Karangsari, Tugu, and nearby areas.

Field coordinator Robet Avandi said the group came to seek clarity rather than conflict. They wanted clear information on what the district administration had done and what it planned next.

Many roads in Rejotangan have deep potholes and broken surfaces. As a result, both motorcycle riders and drivers face daily risk. Residents have patched some sections using their own funds. However, they worry about rules that discourage unsupervised repairs because poor methods could weaken road structure.

Therefore, participants agreed on a petition. They urged the Rejotangan district head and the local leadership forum to escalate the issue to the Tulungagung regency government. They also set a one year window to track progress. If authorities fail to respond, they plan to return with a larger turnout.

The event remained peaceful throughout. Organizers and officials later shared Ramadan snacks with residents. The gathering ended safely and without disruption.

Action leader Rahmat Putra Perdana stressed the need for cooperation between citizens and government. He said the movement should unite stakeholders rather than pressure them. The shared goal, he added, is safer infrastructure in Tulungagung.

He also expressed support for Gatut Sunu Wibowo. Moreover, he urged faster road development to improve safety and mobility for residents.
