TULUNGAGUNG – PT Permodalan Nasional Madani has distributed 3,000 food aid packages in Tulungagung through its Ramadan social program, offering support to low-income families ahead of Eid.
The initiative forms part of the company’s annual PNM Ramadan aid campaign, which focuses on helping vulnerable communities during the fasting month. This year’s distribution targeted underprivileged residents across several areas in Tulungagung.
PNM delivered the packages through its social outreach program, PNM Peduli, in cooperation with GP Ansor Tulungagung on Saturday.
The company arranged the distribution in stages. Staff members worked directly with local community figures to ensure the assistance reached eligible households.
Each package contained basic daily necessities designed to support families during Ramadan and in the days leading up to Eid.
The aid program reflects PNM’s broader commitment to social support for economically vulnerable groups. The company says it wants its presence to create direct benefits beyond financial services.
Irvan Effendi, head of PNM’s Tulungagung branch, said the activity represents the company’s continued effort to stay close to local communities.
“This food assistance is not only an expression of gratitude from PNM, but also part of our commitment to assist and empower underprivileged communities in Tulungagung,” he said.
He added that Ramadan offers an important opportunity to strengthen solidarity and encourage wider cooperation.
According to him, partnerships with community organizations help improve distribution and expand social impact. Irvan said PNM remains optimistic that collaboration with local groups will continue producing positive results for more people.
The company also expects similar empowerment programs to improve welfare in other regions of Indonesia. Residents who received the packages welcomed the support, especially as food prices rise before Eid.
One beneficiary said the package would help cover kitchen expenses during a period when many basic goods become more expensive. Families also expressed hope that PNM will continue running similar programs for low-income communities.
The Ramadan distribution has become one of several social activities carried out by PNM during the fasting season. Local organizers believe such assistance plays an important role in easing short-term household pressure while reinforcing community ties.
As Eid approaches, more institutions across the region are expected to launch similar charity efforts.
