BLITAR – The dispute over the KDMP Tlogo cooperative project in Tlogo Village, Blitar Regency, is intensifying after village authorities insisted on using classrooms at SDN Tlogo 2 for the planned facility.
School principal Sugianto said the school has no authority over the proposed project and does not want educational activities disrupted. He urged village officials to coordinate directly with the Blitar Regency Education Office and other agencies responsible for school facilities.
“We want to stay focused on students’ education and not be disturbed by this cooperative controversy,” he said Wednesday.
Sugianto rejected claims that the targeted classrooms were vacant. He explained that the rooms still function as a library and spaces for extracurricular activities and student training.
He also criticized what he described as one-sided communication from village officials. According to him, the village continued promoting plans to use the rooms despite the school’s objections.
“We have made it clear the rooms are still used. People must understand this so they don’t assume the school is rejecting development,” he said.
The dispute has drawn attention from local legislators and the Blitar regent. Officials previously urged stakeholders not to sacrifice students’ learning environment for the KDMP Tlogo cooperative project.
Sugianto asked authorities to resolve the issue through proper channels. He emphasized that the Education Office, not the school, holds legal authority over school assets. Teachers and parents also urged officials to relocate the cooperative to another site to protect learning activities.
Tlogo village head Samuji defended the plan, saying the cooperative aims to support residents’ economic welfare and aligns with a national program. He added that the village has formally requested the transfer of unused classrooms from the Blitar regency government.
“We are still requesting a grant of several unused rooms to establish the cooperative, and it will not disrupt learning,” he said in a social media statement.
Samuji denied allegations of overreach, stating that the project follows procedures and serves community interests. However, the KDMP Tlogo cooperative dispute remains unresolved as both sides maintain firm positions.
