BLITAR – The PBI-JK reactivation service in Blitar has opened for residents whose government-funded health insurance membership was deactivated earlier in 2026, officials said, aiming to restore access to public healthcare benefits.

The Blitar Social Affairs Office is facilitating reactivation requests for eligible low-income residents enrolled in Indonesia’s national health insurance contribution assistance scheme. Acting head Yudha Budiono said the service ensures qualified citizens can regain coverage under the official system.

“We are opening reactivation services for deactivated PBI-JK members. The social office facilitates eligible residents according to the national reactivation mechanism,” Yudha said.

Applicants must provide several documents to process reactivation. These include a poverty certificate from the local ward office, copies of national ID and family card, a recommendation from a healthcare facility or hospital, and the BPJS Health membership number.

“Residents seeking reactivation must bring all required documents, especially the recommendation letters,” Yudha said.

After submission, officials verify eligibility through the national integrated socio-economic database. If the data match confirms the applicant meets beneficiary criteria, authorities restore PBI-JK membership and healthcare access.

“The administrative completeness allows us to facilitate. The national database handles central verification, while we ensure local data and applications from Blitar residents are accurate,” he said.

Data from the Blitar Social Affairs Office show 38,526 residents were registered as PBI-JK participants as of January 2026. About 2,739 people, or 7.11 percent, were deactivated at the start of the year. The change affected their ability to access subsidized health services.
