TULUNGAGUNG – Tulungagung corruption case over the misuse of poverty certificates at RSUD dr Iskak ended with prison terms for two defendants. The court also ordered both to repay billions of rupiah in state losses.

The anti-corruption court found Reni Budi Kristanti and Yudi Rahmawan guilty under subsidiary corruption charges. However, judges dismissed the primary charges in the case.

Roni, head of intelligence at the Tulungagung Prosecutor’s Office, said the court sentenced Reni to five years in prison. The court will deduct the time she has already served.

In addition, judges fined her Rp 100 million. If she does not pay, she must serve another three months in jail.

The court also ordered Reni to return more than Rp 1.76 billion. This amount is part of the total state loss of Rp 4.3 billion in the case.

If she fails to pay within one month after the ruling becomes final, authorities will seize and auction her assets. If the amount still falls short, she will serve another two years and six months in prison.

Meanwhile, judges also sentenced Yudi Rahmawan to five years in prison. He also received a Rp 200 million fine.

If Yudi does not pay the fine, he must serve an additional six months in jail. The court also ordered him to repay more than Rp 2.46 billion.

That amount is also part of the same Rp 4.3 billion state loss. If he fails to pay, the court will replace it with three more years in prison.

The ruling shows that judges found enough evidence for the subsidiary corruption charges. However, they did not find enough proof for the primary indictment.

Both defendants remain in custody while prosecutors consider further legal action in the Tulungagung corruption case.
