TULUNGAGUNG – Support continues to grow for East Java’s bid to host the HIPMI National Congress 2026, the 18th National Congress of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association. In particular, the Tulungagung branch of HIPMI has expressed strong backing for the proposal.
Dona Margaretha, chair of the Tulungagung Branch Executive Board (BPC HIPMI Tulungagung), said the support reflects a collective commitment from regional members. According to her, the move also aims to strengthen East Java’s position in the national agenda.
Dona believes the province has the capacity to host the HIPMI National Congress 2026. She pointed to strong infrastructure and experience in organizing major events. In addition, East Java has a well-established network of active HIPMI branches.
“We see East Java’s readiness not only in facilities but also in the strength of its organizational structure and regional synergy,” Dona said.
Currently, East Java has 38 active HIPMI branch boards across cities and regencies. Therefore, the province benefits from a strong and coordinated organizational structure.
This wide network allows regional branches to collaborate effectively. As a result, many members believe East Java can organize the HIPMI National Congress 2026 smoothly and efficiently.
At the same time, HIPMI Tulungagung continues to focus on strengthening young entrepreneurs. For the 2025–2028 leadership period, the organization aims to build a collaborative and competitive business ecosystem.
One of the initiatives includes the Branch Working Meeting (Rakercab). The event carries the theme Accelerating Entrepreneurs for a Resilient and Competitive Economy.
Through this forum, members strengthen partnerships and expand business networks, they explore digital opportunities to support business growth.
Meanwhile, the national congress plays a key role within the organization. The HIPMI National Congress 2026 will serve as more than a routine meeting.
Instead, the forum will bring together young entrepreneurs from across Indonesia. During the event, participants can exchange ideas and build stronger business networks.
Moreover, the congress helps shape the future direction of Indonesian entrepreneurship.
“We believe East Java can organize a well-structured event and deliver meaningful impact,” Dona said.
Tulungagung contributes to East Java’s broader economic strength. The region has long been known for its marble industry, which forms an important part of the local economy.
Small and medium enterprises continue to grow in the area. Community-based economic activities also support local development.
Furthermore, Tulungagung’s coastal areas offer strong fisheries potential. Together, these sectors strengthen the region’s economic structure.
The Tulungagung branch of HIPMI has experience organizing large public events. These programs often involve strong participation from local communities. Dona believes the branch has the capacity to support national-level activities.
She added that East Java’s bid reflects collective support from regional branches.
“With 38 active and coordinated branch boards, we believe East Java is ready to become a proud host for the HIPMI National Congress 2026,” she said.
