RADAR TULUNGAGUNG – A house vandalism incident in Tulungagung occurred in Padangan village, Ngantru district, on Tuesday (Feb. 17) afternoon. A 62-year-old resident’s home became the target of a man allegedly under the influence of alcohol. The suspect arrived at the property with a companion on a motorcycle.
According to the victim and witnesses, the suspect approached the homeowner behind the house around 4:30 p.m. local time. A conversation began but quickly escalated. The suspect became enraged after the victim allegedly accused his child of theft. Consequently, he threatened to assault the homeowner.
Fearing violence, the homeowner ran from the scene to seek safety. However, the suspect redirected his anger toward the property. He knocked over a motorcycle parked on the terrace. He then smashed front and side windows using bricks, wood, and a bicycle pump found in the yard.
Ngantru police chief AKP Edy Santoso confirmed the incident and said the suspect fled immediately after damaging the house. “After carrying out the vandalism, the reported suspect immediately left the location on his motorcycle,” he said. Officers later secured evidence including a pump, a brick block, a wooden pole, and a bamboo rod.
The victim reported the house vandalism in Tulungagung to police. Authorities estimate material losses at about Rp 5 million (around $300). Investigators continue examining evidence to identify and pursue the suspect under applicable law.
