BLITAR – Indonesian Army officials reviewed the Garuda Pioneer Bridge in Blitar to ensure the rural infrastructure project delivers long-term benefits for local communities.
Colonel Timmy Prasetya H, Assistant for Territorial Affairs of the Brawijaya Regional Military Command (Aster Kasdam V/Brawijaya), led the monitoring visit at Tawang hamlet, Bendosewu village, Talun district. The evaluation covered the 2026 fiscal-year bridge project under the Blitar Military District Command (Kodim 0808).
Timmy said the army built the bridge to improve village connectivity and support local economic activity. He stressed that infrastructure projects must meet safety and durability standards so residents can rely on them for years.
“This bridge serves the community. Therefore, we are ensuring its construction quality, safety, and function remain optimal for long-term use,” he said.
During the visit, the team inspected the bridge’s physical condition and structural components. Officials from Korem 081/Dhirotsaha Jaya and Kodim 0808 accompanied the inspection and presented construction progress and technical details.
Major Supriono, supervising officer at Kodim 0808/Blitar, said engineers conducted a comprehensive structural evaluation to confirm safety and usability. He emphasized that the bridge serves as a vital transport link for residents.
“This monitoring ensures the bridge is strong and safe. We want people to use this facility without worrying about future technical problems,” he said.
Officials expect the Garuda Pioneer Bridge to accelerate rural mobility, especially for transporting agricultural products and supporting daily activities. They added that cooperation between the military and local communities remains key to improving rural connectivity.
