BLITAR – Blitar civil servants still await clarity on the disbursement of their holiday bonus and 13th salary, as the city government says it cannot proceed without a presidential regulation from Jakarta.
The Blitar City Financial and Asset Management Agency confirmed that both the payment schedule and amounts depend entirely on a forthcoming presidential decree that will guide all regions nationwide.
“We must follow national regulations. Local governments cannot move forward before the presidential rule is issued,” said agency head Widodo Saptono Johanes.
He explained that the decree will define key provisions, including timing and calculation of the benefits. Only after its issuance can local administrations adjust budgets and finalize payments for civil servants.
Public discussion about the holiday bonus and 13th salary has intensified across Indonesia and on social media. However, Widodo stressed that Blitar authorities will adhere strictly to official procedures rather than speculation.
“People are already talking about it everywhere. Still, we will wait for formal direction from the central government on both timing and amount,” he said.
The holiday bonus and 13th salary are annual benefits for Indonesian civil servants. They typically support spending during major religious holidays and the new school year period.
