JAKARTA – A new crypto debit card is making it easier for users to spend cryptocurrency in everyday transactions, allowing payments on major e-commerce platforms and even cash withdrawals at ATMs worldwide.

The card, known as TFWU, functions like a standard Visa debit card but is directly linked to a crypto wallet. Available in both physical and virtual formats, it enables users to shop on platforms such as Shopee, Tokopedia, Amazon, and eBay using digital assets.

Users must first register through the mobile app and complete a Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process. This includes submitting identification documents such as a national ID card, passport, or driver’s license, along with facial verification to ensure account security.

Once verified, users can deposit cryptocurrency into their wallet. In the demonstration, funds were transferred using USDT via the BEP20 network, with transactions processed almost instantly—highlighting one of crypto’s key advantages: speed.

However, funds stored in the wallet are not immediately usable for payments. Users must first transfer or “top up” their balance into the debit card before making purchases. After that, the card can be used like any other Visa card for online or offline transactions.

During testing, purchases were successfully completed on Shopee using the virtual card. The first transaction required additional authorization through the app, but subsequent payments were simpler, requiring only a CVV code.

The physical version of the card also allows users to withdraw cash from ATMs abroad and make contactless payments at retail locations, offering flexibility for international use.

The introduction of crypto debit cards reflects the growing integration of cryptocurrency into mainstream financial systems. By bridging digital assets with traditional payment networks, such tools aim to make crypto more practical for everyday use.

Despite its convenience, users are advised to remain cautious, particularly when handling sensitive data such as CVV codes and payment PINs, to avoid potential security risks.
