TULUNGAGUNG – A total of 1,181 Tulungagung Hajj pilgrims are fully prepared for departure, with all key requirements, from visas to travel logistics, now completed.

Officials confirmed that the entire administrative process has been finalized without major obstacles. Suryani, head of the local Hajj and Umrah office, said authorities had conducted multiple layers of verification to ensure a smooth departure schedule. “As of today, everything is ready for the Hajj departure,” she said.

All essential documents, including passports and visas, have already been distributed to pilgrims. Travel necessities such as suitcases and basic equipment were also handed out early to avoid last-minute delays. This early distribution is expected to streamline final preparations.

The next phase involves technical departure procedures. On May 7, 2026, pilgrims will attend an official send-off ceremony led by the Tulungagung regent. Meanwhile, on May 16, they are scheduled to submit their luggage for inspection before it is transported to the Surabaya embarkation point.

Strict baggage regulations will apply during this stage. Each pilgrim is allowed a maximum of 32 kilograms for checked luggage and 7 kilograms for cabin bags. Officials will carefully inspect all items to prevent any issues during airport processing.

Departures are scheduled to take place between May 17 and 18, 2026. Pilgrims will travel in stages based on their assigned flight groups, as determined by regional authorities.

Despite the high level of technical readiness, officials acknowledged ongoing social activities among pilgrims, such as family gatherings and farewell visits. However, these traditions are not expected to disrupt the overall preparation.

Authorities are also maintaining close coordination to anticipate any last-minute changes. If a pilgrim postpones their trip, replacements must be reported immediately to ensure the quota remains filled. “Any delay must be reported quickly so the next eligible pilgrim can take the slot,” Suryani added.
