RADAR TULUNGAGUNG – Rejotangan road repairs will move forward this year after the Tulungagung government allocated about Rp 8.9 billion for projects across several villages.

Rejotangan subdistrict head Didi Jarot Widodo Nursamsu said officials included the funding in the 2026 regional budget. He added that recent protests from residents showed legitimate public participation to speed up infrastructure work.

“Residents voiced their aspirations with NGO support. We see this as a positive push so development in Rejotangan can move faster,” he said.

The plan covers rehabilitation of the Blimbing-Sumberagung road. It also includes periodic maintenance of the Panjerejo-Tugu corridor crossing Panjerejo, Tenggur, and Tugu villages. Crews will also repair roads in Karangsari and reconstruct a damaged section in Tenggong.

Jarot said the projects already match community demands. “What residents asked for already appears in this year’s plan,” he said.

The procurement process is now underway. The subdistrict has coordinated with the public works agency of Tulungagung Regency Government, which will execute the projects. Officials expect construction to start around June or July after the tender finishes.

Jarot estimated the combined value of all infrastructure packages in Rejotangan at nearly Rp 8.9 billion. He noted the figure remains provisional until technical agencies confirm the final budget.

Earlier, hundreds of residents from the 212 Loro Siji Loro “Rakyat Makmur Sejahtera” group visited the subdistrict office. They demanded clear action on damaged roads that endangered motorists. The protest ended peacefully with shared iftar involving local officials.

Jarot urged residents and authorities to maintain open communication. He also asked for public support so planning and construction run smoothly and improve safety in Rejotangan.
